About
Chaoqun Ni studies how science works, and how it can work better. Her research examines the social and systemic conditions that shape who participates in science, how knowledge is generated and assessed, how research is corrected, and whose contributions are recognized.
Using large-scale scholarly, workforce, and policy data, her work connects science of science, science policy, scholarly communication, and data analytics. Current projects focus on research integrity, AI and science, research evaluation, scientific careers and credit, and the ways scientific knowledge is translated into broader impact.
